Forested wetlands on the Walden Parke 2 property
Project Description:
This project conserved approximately 55 acres of land including approximately 7.5 acres of forested and emergent freshwater wetlands, with the balance consisting of upland buffer. Mapped vernal pools are present on the east and west sides of the property and the site includes critical terrestrial habitat around these pools. The site also contains mapped Deer Wintering Area. The property is within the Caribou Bog Wetland Complex Focus Area of Statewide Ecological Significance and abuts existing Bangor Land Trust conserved land on three sides. It is also adjacent to approximately 12 additional acres which BLT conserved at the same time (but not as part of an MNRCP project).
