Three Rivers Land Trust
Total Cost of Project:
This project involved acquisition of approximately 25 acres of wooded upland and wetlands in order to manage the site as wildlife habitat. The property is wedged between conservation land and a 30-lot subdivision, where two houses have been built. The project site is within the Walnut Hill Beginning with Habitat Focus Area in Alfred, and was supported by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. The project protects valuable wetlands and adds to conserved land within the Walnut Hill focus area. If not protected, the parcel would likely have been developed.
