This project involved the fee purchase and preservation of an approximately 70-acre parcel in Rangeley, Maine with -1,200 feet of shore frontage on the Hunter Cove portion of Rangeley Lake. Abutting this parcel are two conservation properties held in fee by the Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust: the 100-acre Hunter Cove Wildlife Sanctuary parcel located to the north with -2,800 feet of shore frontage on Hunter Cove and the 172-acre Hunter Cove Uplands parcel located to the west -3,800 of shore frontage on Hunter Cove. The combined conservation of these three parcels has resulted in a total of 342 acres of functionally contiguous land with 7,800 feet of shore frontage. Conserved and protected are a lsrge forested wetland, lake shore wetland areas, several streams, and adjacent uplands.
